IN EACH ROOM â—½ HOME

I love to organize, and I feel like it’s a constant chore in every home, because we live, we move, we hurry, we are busy…and our stuff ends up a mess over and over again!  So when I hear about, or see, a new organizer that’s all the rage, I like to try it!  I recently tried three different organizers and I love every one of them…for different reasons.

We are given the most amazing drawings and handmade cards every holiday from the kids.  And we’ve hung them on the fridge, and laid them on our desks, or just lost them in the shuffle.  But the kids enjoy looking for them when they visit.  I recently purchased a string of lights with tiny paper clips on it, from Hobby Lobby.  I strung it up over my husband’s desk area, and now we clip the cards and drawings there…until the next ones come…and we switch out.  The string looks so pretty when the lights are on.  How cool is that?

I’ve tried all sorts of different ways to hang jeans in our closet, and I had been hanging two pair across one hanger, on my husband’s side.  However, he told me he’d prefer one to a hanger, and I knew that would take up more closet space.  I purchase a two-pack of these hangers that cascade down, taking up less space, and they hold five pair of jeans on each rung.  I think I had something like this decades ago, but this new one – it’s updated and better!  I want to get myself a two-pack now!

I can’t recall where I first saw this back of the door hanging shelf, but when I ordered and it arrived, I was so surprised at how sturdy and roomy and easy it was to hang.  Each shelf holds quite a bit, and one of those behind every door in the house wouldn’t be a bad idea at all!  I was able to fold totes, stack up bags, and move several things from the closet to this shelf…to make more room in the closet itself.  This organizer is a WINNER.

The last new thing I just bought myself was a bread box.  I had been keeping our bread in a cake dome, and sometimes bagels or tortillas just sat on the counter.  When I saw this beautiful box on line, I realized it would fit right beside our popcorn maker.  It’s a two level huge bread box!

We now have all the space for pastries, buns, a place for avocados to ripen, and tomatoes to sit…it holds so much.  And it’s pretty, besides!

It’s the end of summer.  Try one of these, or organize your own space in a new way.  It’s therapeutic and actually fun to see what you can do to get everything in its place.
