SUGAR & SPICE â—½ TIPS
TIPS - aug 2024 - sugar and spice.jpg

I love the simple, classic look of red lips, red nails, liquid eyeliner, and soft eye makeup. Probably, because it’s a vintage glam look. It’s a flattering look for most and is good for a day of running errands or date night with your special someone.

But I have a few updates I have made to this look, including sparkle, eco-friendliness, and a Taylor Swift lip color.

Gray instead of black eyeliner: I recently picked up one of my favorite liquid eyeliners from Stila, but in a dark gray shade called “Intense Labradorite.” At first glance, it looks black, but the gray color adds a softer look to eye makeup. It would be complementary for lighter hair and complexions.

Soft Sparkle: Stila’s Glitter & Glow in “kitten karma” is one of my favorite liquid sparkly eyeshadows. Because it’s a liquid formula, there is far less fall-out and stray sparkles. TIP: I dab just a bit with the applicator on the center of my top eyelid and tap it a few times with my finger to blend it. Let it dry for ten seconds. Then add a stripe of liquid eyeliner and some matte eyeshadow in the eyelid crease, and voila! Classic glam, updated a bit.

New favorite red nail color: Poppy red from a company called manicurist of Paris. It’s part of their Green line of natural nail polish. The polish is so buttery and opaque, and it is a beautiful bright red with a glossy finish. So classic. Also, I love that it is 84% made with natural ingredients, like corn and cassava!

Taylor Swift’s Red Lipstick: I love a cool toned red lipstick, like the color Taylor Swift has been seen wearing recently, which is Pat McGrath Labs MatteTreance Lipstick in the shade “Elson.” Fortunately, I was able to purchase a tube of this high-end lipstick in this shade on the Ipsy sale web page at a fraction of the price. The lipstick is creamy, and the color stays true. Definitely worth the price.

The beauty of blessings to you!
