TRIED & TRUE ◽ TIPS

Another month, another share, of cool things I see everywhere! I hope you take note of the interesting, the weird, and the practical and the beautiful as you too are out and about! Here’s July’s list:
Need a themed hat or bag? Google it on Amazon and find the best and very inexpensive. Just bought these for the girls we took to see My Fair Lady. They were showstoppers.
Did you know that the Target Dollar Spot has the cutest décor – like these tin cans – for vases or holding garden gear or just for looking so pretty?
You can create an entry space for July easy peasey – hang up all your summer hats and add some red, white and blue – done!
Lip oil – have you tried it? I like it better than gloss or lipstick. It’s hydrating and glossy and feels great. I found a trio at Anthropologie.

When’s the last time you enjoyed a coke float? Keep a pint of ice cream and one bottle of coke in the fridge/freezer for nights when you want one. And get some cute coke glasses at Daiso or Dollar Tree!
Three cosmetics I buy over and over again – Elf eyebrow pencil, Lash Princess mascara (it’s the best!) and Neutrogena concealer (use under eyes, on lids, on nose)
I like this package of tiny lighters. They’re powerful, don’t take up much room, and prettier with home décor than those big red and blue lighters!
Need a stunning piece of jewelry at a very affordable price? Gracefully Yours (also in the store at the 1928 Hotel in Waco) has the most beautiful designs of rings, necklaces and bracelets.
These are a must-have for me in the summer months when I wear a lot of dresses – shorts to wear under – to keep you dry and comfy!

We have an area where nothing will grow so it gets muddy when it rains. Stepping stones make a path and look so pretty! Found these on Amazon.
Need something creative and fun to do, to pass the summer doldrums? These bookmarks are a blast. I also ordered the dried flowers. Have some friends over and share the fun!
This dance popped up on Instagram and I was smitten – the stroll – from the 50’s? Have you danced it? Why not?
Grab a bandanna, cut a long piece at a diagonal across the center. Make knots, add a charm or two, and you’ve got the cutest necklace that sells for too much money in stores.

Car fresheners – sometimes they’re just the thing you need on commutes – and this one has replaceable inserts – lots of choices. From Bath & Body.
They’re back! Fake flowers among the real ones in pots, for the heat of the summer, so you have color all year long. They work. Can you tell which is which?
Pretty decorated hair pins – great for those times you wear your hair up in the summer or need it off your neck or face – they’re sooooo cute. From Amazon.
I’ve used this fruit box keeper for a while now and it works great. Has a strainer box inside, keeps the fruit dry, and makes it last longer in the fridge. I have two!

TRIED & TRUE ◽ TIPS

I’m always learning, trying new things, and sharing them with you. Feel free this month to add things you’ve learned in the comment box below, and we’ll share it next month!
Battery operated lamps – they saved us when the power went out – do you have some? Keep several on hand as décor!
Puzzles – 300 pieces – kids can put these together in a couple hours – if you need them to stay occupied for a bit. Amazon has lots!
Do you bake potatoes in the slow cooker? Wrap in foil, place inside, along with ½ cup water. Cook about 8-9 hours on low.
If your card table is old and nicked up…Amazon has elastic covered tablecloths that work like a charm to restore the table to beauty!
When’s the last time you purchased and plugged in a new nightlight? It’s an easy affordable treat for fall fun.
A couple of good movies to see with the kids…Inside Out 2…and The Hill (on Netflix). First one is animated but shares a great lesson, and second one is better for the older kids…it’s based on a true story.
Looking for great and personally made, quality jewelry? I love Ink and Alloy. Check out their pieces!
Did you know there are bracelets (the cutest!) for you and kids…that when you purchase…you can track a specific animal? Check this out!
The Target Dollar Spot often has organizers that work well in pantries. I recently found shelves and baskets I love…with green trim!

Solar lamps on your porch are just plain cute and inviting. Big Lots has a cute one!
Best Maid pickle juice over ice, then bits of pickle on top – they say it’s good!
Need some new lawn chairs? We tried very style in multiple stores and opted for the old style with the woven straps in a pretty green and brown…and we love them.
Have you made lemonade this summer yet? Why not? Squeeze some lemons in a cute summer pitcher and add water, and however much sugar you like. It even tastes good with a slice of banana bread for breakfast!

Thinking of upgrading your front yard or porch?
Pick a neighborhood you like and go for a walk there, and snap photos of looks you love. It helps!
