Fall is upon us, and maybe it’s sneaked up on you unaware…and you’re closet is stuffed and you need to clean it out…or you need a few things to add to your closet, to dress up the season. Here are a few ideas for you!

How about a scarf? Did you know that Walmart has some pretty scarves that are super affordable? Find one in fall hues and wear it with fall sweaters, like this one from J. Crew Factory. If it’s a large square scarf, tie a knot in the center. Then pull two corners and tie the scarf behind your neck, with the knot underneath. A printed fall scarf is so pretty with a solid sweater.
A textured bag – A good accessory for the fall is a bag with texture. Quilted, or tufted, you choose. I love this backpack, and there are lots of totes in stores in fall hues. These are great for the fall season. I found this one at World Market.
Something suede – I found this vest at Earthbound Trading. It’s a suede fabric, and suede is great for the season, as it provides a little extra warmth…and style! Add a jewelry accessory on your wrist – like this really pretty bracelet from Ink and Alloy. Check out their selection.
Funky boots – Knee boots, dress boots…but what about something chunky and funky? I love this pair from Target. They’re great with skirts or a pair of flared jeans, or any way you want to wear them! And...order up a full size!
A pretty blouse and pearls – Pretty blouses look so nice under cardigans or sweaters or jackets in the fall. And I recently saw how a strand of pearls can be turned around with the clasp in the front, add a brooch through it…for an elevated look. It’s fun!
An oversized shirt – I found this one on vacation and it’s a heavy shirt that’s color blocked. This type of shirt is great for cool but not cold days…worn as a jacket. Isn’t this one pretty?
A sweater vest – I love this striped sweater vest with gold buttons that I found at a discount store. It’s so versatile. It can be worn by itself on warmish days, under a jacket on cold days, or with a tee underneath for whenever…worn open or buttoned up.
Stripes and comfort – This Amazon shirt is a fave. And because it’s black and white, any scarf can be added, really. Long sleeves are a must this time of year, and a little front tuck makes this outfit sing. This shirt is really comfortable.

Look at your closet, see what pieces you can add to what you have, or go shopping for a few new items…then have fun putting it all together.

Basic black and white – A good white tee is hard to find, but I snagged one at Old Navy. It’s got the crew neck and longer sleeves, and it’s a cute length. Worn with black pulla pants from Old Navy, you can then add a purse of any color across your body!

Or wear your basic black and white, and add a tote and a bag for an end of summer weekend getaway!

Look in your close for neutrals and staples. Put together an outfit, and then add some color in your accessories! Grab some end of summer sales and wear them and enjoy them! And let’s all hope that September brings a bit cooler temps…at least below 100!​
